I’m back with a review of my most worn jeans of 2023, the Ayla jeans from Citizens of Humanity.

Citizens of Humanity Ayla Jeans

Currently, the Ayla Baggy Cuffed Crop jeans are available in 7 washes at slightly different price points. Most are made from 100% cotton, and some contain elastane for stretch. They’re designed with a relaxed fit around the waist and hip, button fly, a slightly dropped crotch, and a bold rolled cuff (rolled up twice) at the bottom. And of course, they can be worn cuffed once or all the way uncuffed.

FIRST IMPRESSION: My first impression when the white Ayla jeans arrived was the fact that they felt so soft and extremely comfortable. I wanted them to fit slightly loose and relaxed around my waist, so I ordered them size 26, a size bigger than my regular size. Of course, they ended up being too big, so I exchanged them for size 25.

FIT: I am 5ft5, so the bottom hem turned up or cuffed twice hit me right at the ankle bone. I can be able to wear these high-waisted with the help of a belt.

I’ve seen these Ayla jeans on petite frames. Blogger Monikh is a good example because she’s tiny. I’m not sure how tall she is, but she makes them look amazing. I’m pretty sure she said in one of her stories that she got the bottom hem taken up a bit. I think if you love the fit of these, it’s absolutely worth it to get them altered to your body. Don’t cut them with a pair of scissors since that raw hem look is not the permanent best way to treat your jeans.

Ayla Jeans in Brielle

FIRST IMPRESSION: I’m actually so happy that the Ayla in Brielle show up at this time of the year (pre-fall). For the sake of transparency, I received this pair for free. Citizens of Humanity wanted to use my Tiktok video for an ad, so they gifted me a pair of jeans for free. Since I loved my white Ayla pair so much, I knew right away I wanted another pair but in a different wash. Skylights were my number one choice at that moment, but the Brielle was the only one available for gifting.

FIT: These have the same fit and feel as the white pair, and they’re just as comfortable. However, with the white pair, it’s harder to keep the bottom clean. So of course, I’ve been reaching for the Brielle so much more often.
