about KHAITE
Khaite is a women’s ready-to-wear brand, founded by Catherine Holstein in 2016. The brand is based in New York City, and in 2022, Khaite opened their first retail store in Soho (at 165 Mercer Street, New York).
“Khaite” is pronounced like “Kate” and was inspired by Holstein’s nickname, Cate. Khaite is also a Greek term that means “flowing hair.” Cashmere knits, Japanese denim, leather accessories, and eveningwear are what Khaite does best, but there is a lot more to love about the brand.

1. KHAITE Robbi Belt in Black
I bought the Khaite Robbi from SSENSE when they did the 20% discount private sale at the beginning of summer this year. All sizes are still available, HERE.
This belt has a patent finish, but in person, it’s not too shiny which is what I’d personally prefer. The buckle and the metal piece at the end of the belt are apparently made from 18-karat gold-plated brass, and I think that helps justify the price. I’m so glad I picked it up because it’s a gorgeous and well-made belt.
Styling this belt is quite easy because most of my jewelry is gold. I love that it adds a subtle touch of dressed-up vibe to an outfit, a piece I’d see myself wearing for years and years!

2. KHAITE Benny Belt in Black Leather with Silver
I bought the Khaite Benny belt at retail price on the Khaite website. It came wrapped in plastic (straight from the manufacturer) and printed tissue paper (the same print as this picture on their About page here). I think the packaging situation could have been improved a little bit for a luxury brand like Khaite, but I really don’t mind too much about it.
Quality-wise, the Benny actually meets all of my expectations. It’s got some weight to it, and the leather finish is beautiful. I love the silver buckle as it gives a Western vibe without screaming too much cowboy. If your style leans a bit of tomboy chic like me, then make this the first belt from Khaite that you need to buy. It is very much worth the hype because I have been wearing it non-stop!

LAST NOTE:
The only thing I wish Khaite would do differently with their belts is to expand the sizing. Both of my belts, the Benny and the Robbi, are size XS/S, so apparently it’s a one-size-fits-most thing. I notice when I wear certain low pants, the belt tails with the metal bits hang out and flop around because they’re not long enough to go through the left belt loop.
Other than that, I adore these belts and would highly recommend them to anyone! They’re expensive for a piece of leather accessory, but trust me when I say you will not stop reaching for them. Besides The Row, Khaite is THE BRAND I’d splurge on right now!
