Flats are taking over the fashion world by storm.
And I’m here to prove that you, too, need to add a pair of flats to your wardrobe ASAP!
WHY?
Because they’re ultra-comfortable and CHIC!
Also! If you don’t own any shoes from The Row, let me convince you on investing in a pair!!!
In this post, I’m going to review the black elastic ballet flats from The Row I recently bought. I loved everything about them, but keep on reading to find out why I returned them.
THE ROW Elastic leather ballet flats
These round-toed leather ballet flats from The ROW come with slim elastic ankle straps that resemble the classic Mary Jane silhouette. The design is minimal and clean.
They’re available in 2 colors, black and milk.

Sizing & Fit
These Row elastic ballet flats run true to size. I’m 7.5 – 8 U.S, and these in size 38 EU fit me perfectly.
They’re so lighweight and comfortable, perfect as casual everyday kinda shoes!
What I love most (or instantly) about these ballet flats is the fact that they are made from super soft nappa leather (almost too soft that I’d be so afraid to ruin the moment I wear them outside!)
The leather upper is thin and slightly stretchy. It hugs my feet in a way that make it so comfortable to wear and walk in for a long period of time. The insoles are lightly padded, and there’s a tiny bit of heels which provide a suble heel lift and aid in comfort.
In terms of fit, they do fit and feel like socks. And I’m so happy to report that they don’t slide off my feet at all!
I didn’t get to wear them outside, so I couldn’t speak for its durability and leather quality (when worn and exposed to the outside environent for a long period of time!). If you own these and have comments, feel free to leave them below.
Styling
Styling these Row ballet flats is oviously the easiest thing in the world. You’d only need to make soure your pants aren’t too long as these shoes provide zero height addition. I’m loving them with longer shorts, capris, and tapered cropped pants or jeans at the moment.
Let me know how you’d style them!

Reasons why I returned these Row ballet flats
Now, note the timeline when I bought these shoes… It was right before my Vietnam trip at the end of January 2024.
I bought them with the intention of wearing them out and about casually in Vietnam.
If you’ve ever been to Vietnam, you’d know the harsh hot sun, pollution, and humidity condition. My main way of commuting is often time walking (and/or riding on a moped). There are a lot of dirt roads in Vietnam, plus I’m not the most careful when it comes to footwear and taking care of my shoes. Knowing all that I know, these Row ballet flats are almost too precious and I know I would instantly ruin them the first time I wear them out.
In addition, the box that my Row ballet flats was shipped in was also damaged as there are holes and a corner is smashed. I like to consider myself a The Row collector, so a damaged shoe box is kinda a big-ish deal to me. They’ve got to go back!
So I decided to return and wait to own them at some point in the near future.
There are so many dupes and look-alikes out in the market at the moment, but none can compare to the quality and elegance of these from The Row! I own a few pairs of The Row shoes, and I can speak for the quality. I know these have been out for a few years now, and they rarely go on sale for a reason.
If you don’t already own a pair of ballet flats or mary janes, MAKE THESE YOUR FIRST BECAUSE THEY ARE SERIOUSLY SO GOOD!
