For the minimalists and outfit repeaters…
No, you don’t have to go all-out and spend all your hard-earned money on new designers to achieve these looks.

The three outfits plus formulas I’m sharing in this post will inspire YOU to start shopping secondhand and incorporate pieces you’ve already had in your closet.
NOTE: This post goes live in mid-May, so trenches are no longer in rotation for us in New York. At the moment, I see a lot of girlies wearing and tagging Rue Sophie‘s trench coat, THIS ONE, and that’s as far as trenches go for spring this year. Honestly, you can find a ton of the exact trench secondhand online or at your local thrift stores and flea markets, so do that!
FORMULA 1 – OUTFIT 1
YOUR BEST DRESS + SHOULDER WOVEN BAG + SMALL HEELS
I found the dress size XS secondhand from The RealReal and was ecstatic that it fit. I love midi-length bodycon dresses like this on my body shape. I’m not skinny. I do pick and choose what I wear and what I post online, so you’d never see me in anything tiny and mini. TMI – my arms and thighs are chunky, and they’re my biggest insecurities.
For spring and summer this year, it’s all about woven bags. So invest in one or a few made from different materials, patterns, and styles. You should!
I sold and let go of all of my high heels after moving to New York. My commute is long, and there’s always a lot of walking plus I’ve had a fair share of blisters and terrible foot pains. So I choose comfort!

FORMULA 2 – OUTFIT 2
THE CLASSIC BLACK-AND-WHITE COMBO CAN’T DO YOU WRONG
I wear a lot of white in the spring. My pursuit of a perfect white or off-white tank top or T-shirt will never end because one cannot have too many. So start there and pair it with your favorite white or off-white trousers or jeans. They don’t need to perfectly match their whiteness, so use your judgment. Don’t forget to show some skin if you’re wearing long bottoms, and for me, the low scoop neck cut of the tank top does it for me. I tried on a few other T-shirts and tanks with higher necklines, but they didn’t look or feel quite right.
The Acne Studio blazer, as you can see HERE, HERE, and HERE, that it’s been on repeat for me every weekend when I’m out and about in the city. It just looks good with everything and dresses up every outfit for every occasion. And the best part is I got it for less than $250!

FORMULA 3 – OUTFIT 3
BUTTON YOUR SHIRT ALL THE WAY!
It’s sorta a Scandi thing to do, I think, but I love it. It gives ‘intention’ or that the person wearing the outfit has styled it or has put some thought into it. Try it and send me pics to let me know if it works for you!
Suede is also huge, so do get your hands on one or a few things – a suede bag, suede ballet flats, a suede over-shirt (shirt-jacket, worn here), a suede oversized jacket (which you can easily find vintage or secondhand on eBay or Poshmark), a suede trench coat, and/or a suede mini skirt, midi skirt, maxi skirt or a suede dress. Oh my!
