I started this BIRTHDAY BAG and call it a tradition after I moved to New York. For 2022, I bought the black medium Celine Box Bag, brand new at the Celine boutique on Madison Avenue in the Upper East Side. My 2023 bag was the mini Loewe Puzzle Bag in the color Sand (taupe), and it was an online purchase and in-person pick-up at Bergdorf Goodman. I believe Loewe no longer makes the Puzzle bags from multiple pieces of leather anymore, sad!

For my birthday this year, 2024, I didn’t buy a bag… or have yet to buy one because I want to wait things out just a bit. At least I got to spend the entire month of February, my birthday month, in Vietnam, and that was honestly one of the best birthday gifts in a long time. Being surrounded by my family and loved ones was something I had been wishing and manifesting for in so many years!

I’ve seen it in person at the Nordstrom store in NYC, and it’s honestly the coolest and most stand-out bag that The Row has released recently. It comes with an inner tie that can change the shape to a smaller profile for days that you don’t have a lot of things with you. Such a refreshing, sleek, and sturdy bag!

The Idaho comes in nylon, and so far, I’ve seen the nylon version in black, tan, and forest green. And the green is really the best colorway for the nylon version!

2. The Row 90’s Bag in Nubuck

Right now I’m debating between geting the grained leather 90’s bag in black or burn wood/burgundy color or the red suede in the color Chianti, just because it would make a great pop of color. Grained calfskin leather is for sure more durable and less of a maintenance as compared to suede finish. The off-white color also seems very sweet. I wish I could have them all!

I fell in love with this particular elongated east-west shape the long tubular handles almost immediately when I saw it. SO CHIC!!!

4. Gucci Jackie

I’ve had my eyes on a Gucci Jackie for years! I love everything about it, except the price as they keep getting more expensive these days! The particular red patent leather linked above is the new Gucci Rosso Ancora Leather, and size is small. Size small works best as an every day bag for me, and I know I will get a lot of use out of it.

5. Lemaire Fortune Croissant Bag

This black Fortune Croissant is my number 1 pick if I were to get another Lemaire bag!

In case you don’t know, I’ve had the Lemaire croissant in the color Khaki for almost 2 years now, and it’s been one of my favorite every day and perfect travel bag! It’s lightweight and perfect for on-the-go! The strap is not adjustable, but I find that it’s got a sweet length that works for most of my outfits, so far!

I cannot wait to get my hands on the black one!
