TIPS TO PLAN YOUR NEW ENGLAND ROAD TRIP THIS FALL

NEW ENGLLAND GEOGRAPHY

Located in the northeast corner of the US, New England is comprised of 6 states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

WHY NEW ENGLAND?

New England is renowned for its brilliantly hued leaves (maples, oaks, beeches, sweetgums, etc. that change colors in the fall. Leaf-peeping is a thing!

FALL FORECAST 2022

Fall foliage lasts for a few weeks. but peak happens within a few days. Best is to plan your travel around mid to late September all the way to mid-October, depending on weather.

TIMING IS TRICKY!

If you're flexible, be ready to leave to New England ASAP or wait in certain areas for peak. Also don't hesitate to drive around to find the perfect spot!

Know Where to Go

The Kancamagus Highway drive through New Hampshire. Any hikes in Green Mountains (Vermont) & White Mountains (New Hampshire). Cities: Boston, Burlington, and coastal towns in Maine.

LEAF-PEEPING TIPS

Remember: NORTH CHANGE FIRST. Best way to experience is by car. Slow down, take many stops, and look up. Be respectful of the locals, and only leave with photos and memories.

Besides the colorful leaves, know that you support New Englanders businesses. Attend local events, learn history of the state, and enjoy local food.

Lastly, pack layers because fall weather can change fast. Book hotels in advance. Don't forget to take lots of photos!
