Hidden Lake Overlook

Glacier Nation Park, Montana Length: 2.9 mi Elevation Gain: 567 ft Type: Out & Back

Best Time to Hike

June through October. Sunrise hike is super magical, but it's a great hike for any time of the day.

Trail Conditions

Well maintained and extremely popular hike. Mostly on boardwalk and some parts are rocky and muddy.

What to Expect

Mountain range, alpine meadows, sun and moon, snow and fog, wild animals, and extreme crowds. So hike early!

What to Wear

Sturdy hiking shoes are highly recommended. Bring extra layer in case it gets chilly due to high elevation.

Hidden Lake Hike

From the Overlook, you can hike down to the lake. Watch out for bear activity as the trail might be temporarily closed.

Learn about bear safety and hike with bear spray. Watch from a safe distance, make loud noises,  and do not run.

Parking Tip

Parking lot, located at Logan Pass, fills up very quickly, so arrive early or later in the afternoon.
