Acadia National Park
The majority of Acadia is on Mount Desert Island, Maine. It's a great place for a family road trip, and the best time to visit is summer and fall.
Watch sunrise on Cadillac Mountain

#1 must-do in Acadia. Known as the first place in the U.S. to see the sunrise. Sunrise parking reservation is required 2 days in advance on recreation.gov.
Hike Jordan Pond Path

3.1- mile easy and family friendly loop trail with plenty of opportunities for picnic, birding, hiking, and trail running. Views are incredible.

It's a tradition that you'd stop by Jordan Pond House restaurant after hiking Jordan Pond Path for popovers and blueberry tea.
Camp at Blackwood Campground

Campsite must-be booked in advance. This campground is within a short-driving distance to most popular spots in Acadia.
Hike the Beehive Trail

Wear good hiking boots and take it slow if you need to. There are iron rungs for certain rocky areas, but overall, it is a fun, short, and sweet trail.
Go to Sand Beach

A very popular beach in the park. Atlantic waves are cold, but the beach is totally swimmable in the summer!
Visit Bar Harbor

Cute little town that's considered as a gateway to Acadia National Park. Spend at least half of a day enjoying many lovely shops and restaurants.

Arrive early since parking is limited. Make sure to hike down to the rocks for a better view of the lighthouse! It's an iconic spot!
